Electronic Care Information System.

The ChipSoft Electronic Care Information System (CS-ECIS) is a configurable care information system with open standards, which is based on the globally accepted Windows-technology and is completely suitable for future transmural communication. In four words: the CS-ECIS is scalable, reliable, manageable and stable.

How does the CS-ECIS work?

The following underlying principles were employed in the development of the CS-ECIS: optimum user-friendliness, unlimited expansion of functionality, clear data registration at source and communication facilities for third party software. The result is an integrated system that offers every user a simple interface with exactly those functions the user needs for the performance of his or her tasks. Of course, the CS-ECIS offers optimum support to the EPR (Electronic Patient Record), the patient logistic processes and order management.

The CS-ECIS is laid out in such a way that the treatment and care processes determine how the system is used. The system consequently does not impose a regime. The CS-ECIS architecture is completely Windows-oriented. Convenient to use, because working with CS-ECIS occurs in a familiar context. Ideal for transmural communication, because Windows-technology is a worldwide standard.

The CS-ECIS’ foundations are made up of three separate architectural levels: one level contains all the data; the second comprises the software that houses the applications; the third level contains the user front end. Thanks to this flexible architecture, independent decisions can be taken for each level, whether this concerns the type of database, the functionality to be built in (ChipSoft’s, or a third party’s) or the client(s) to be used.

Benefits

Through the use of international industry standards, data can be effortlessly exchanged with third party software. Above all, the Windows-oriented architecture makes the integration with Microsoft Office programs such as MS Excel and MS Word very simple. In addition, you can decide whether to use Windows clients, thin clients and/or mobile computing (such as hand-held devices). The CS-ECIS architecture is suitable for scalable network server architecture, which improves performance. Thanks to a clear registration of data and the recording of all alterations in the log files, duplicate registration, untraceable data and the loss of altered data in the CS-ECIS are impossible.

Most important features

Both patient records, planning schedules, patient flow options, medication and administrative transactions are made readily comprehensible and processable in a single system. It is possible to retrieve and influence information related to the entire care process. Using the advanced authorization structure, it can be determined in detail to which parts of the care process users have access and whether viewing or write permissions have been issued to them.
