CS-Patient
Electronic Patient Registration
What is CS-Patient?
For a care information system to function perfectly and the registration of
all the information in the Electronic Patient Record to be optimum, the patient
registration must take place faultlessly and unambiguously. Not only should name
and address data be entered correctly, but also patient insurance details must
remain up-to-date. Through its unique construction, CS-Patient functions
excellently as a centralized and decentralized module for patient registration
throughout the institution.
How does CS-Patient work?
CS-Patient is equipped with the maximum variable configuration options, so
that each care institute can design its patient registration entirely as it
wishes. For example, separate screens can be defined for clinical and outpatient
registrations, emergency registrations and temporary registrations. The
application manager can decide which required and supplementary patient data is
displayed on each type of screen. The configuration of punch cards and patient
labels is also completely open. Thanks to the advanced authorization structure,
it is possible to make exactly those functions available to each user necessary
for the performance of his or her duties.
For each desired period, overviews can be compiled and printed out of, for
example, all the new registrations, patient data alterations, emergency
registrations, links and possible duplicate registrations.
Benefits
Thanks to the use of the worldwide HL7 standard and the support of other
interface protocols, CS-Patient communicates and integrates effortlessly with
other systems.
Through a link with the ZIP code table, just inputting the ZIP code and house
number completes the patient’s address in an instant. The area code is also
automatically filled in. In addition, the made-to-measure registration screens
only display the relevant fields. With just a few simple entries, a registration
can take place quickly, so that waiting times at reception are kept to a
minimum.
Most important features
CS-Patient has a sophisticated construction that makes it almost impossible
to confuse patients with each other or to register them twice. During
registration, the system always first provides an overview of all the patients
that match the personal details entered. Based on this overview, the user can
determine simply if this is indeed a new registration. In addition, CS-Patient
is equipped with the functionality to trace any duplicate registrations
independently. The user can subsequently decide which registrations must be
linked. If necessary, a link can be undone retrospectively, should it appear
that two patients have been confused with each other by accident.
CS-Patient supports an optimum check of the input of insurance data and
ensures that all the required data is registered. All insurance data changes are
recorded; these can be retrieved for each patient in a chronological overview.
This prevents problems occurring during invoicing if the patient’s insurance
data have been altered in the interim.
An optimum monitoring of the registration data is possible, because
CS-Patient logs the time, date and user of every action in the system.
